Berke stands with the black community against systemic racism and injustice

Since the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests against systemic racism and police brutality in America, we’ve been listening and learning. Now it’s time to act. Speaking up is the only option if there is going to be real change.

Racism is wrong and Berke stands with the Black community. We wholeheartedly support equality and the end of discrimination. This extends to every institution of our society, but it especially applies to the workplace.

One of our operating beliefs as a company is that people are an organization’s most important asset and how they are recruited and hired should be fair, equitable, and dignified. In this moment, it’s important that we affirm this belief with our employees, partners, and clients.

For us, affirming this belief looks like taking time to acknowledge racism and injustice in our own spheres of influence. In addition to examining our values and processes to create a diverse and inclusive company, we’re encouraging our employees to listen, to learn, and to act in a way that makes sense for them. We will continue to discuss and produce content on the topics of unconscious bias and discrimination in hiring and their effects on minority candidates.

Talk is cheap. We must back it up with action. Going forward, we are committed to working towards fair and just processes for our clients and their candidates. We all need to stand together in this fight.
